How Do You Want it?

I think it's funny to look and see how much music has changed over the last couple of years. I mean there had been so many phases. I mostly listen to hip-hop and rap because i enjoy dancing so it really gets me moving but why have we gone on this music roller coaster. I have no problems with listening to these songs they don't offend me because I'm bigger then that. In 2003 The Ying Yang Twins had a song called "Naggin" which was a direct reference that women are always complaining and bothering men, but it's not just that were complaining were trying to tell you something and your just don't want to hear it. Women don't write songs saying "oh he's so damn hard headed". I mean get real. Then in 2004 the top 5 song of that year was "Slow Motion" By Juvenile. Which is about a combination of sex and dancing and of course very degrading. Now moving on to 2007 still not that much better with "Freaky Gurl" by Gucci Mane, with the chorus being "she a very freaky girl, don't bring her home to mama, first your get her name then you get here number, then you get some brain in the front seat of the hummer". And for all of us that doesn't know what this means is. Find out here name so you can sweet tlak her, then get here number to seem interested then take here to your hummer and receive oral sex from here.... that's it! THAT'S ALL WERE GOOD FOR! Now in the last 2 years we've had a change in 2008 with Webbie's song for women "Independent". talking about how it's nice when a women has things that she didn't have to get from a man, unlike the typical "Kayne west", "Gold digger" way. And now this year in 2009 Jamie Foxx wrote a song entitled "She Got Her Own" Which the beginning starts with the lyrics "a dedication to the independent women" which is a huge progress from the degrading lyrics that we have been putting up with for years. It's nice to hear a song like Jamie Foxx's when he says that he likes it when a women wants to pay for dinner and do things for her man or gentlemen caller and he appreciates it. I love that line that he says "There ain't nothing that's more sexy, then a women want but don't need me". That alone is a sign even small that men are trying to come around the idea that women can and are doing things on there own and we don't want or need to relay on a man.

  1. I like that male artists are finally starting to see that women are out here trying to do there own thing and not depend on a man. Im sure there tired of women always coming to them for everything and so there starting to see the other side of it.
