Get a Clue?

Nothing makes me want to laugh harder then when i read this celebrity gossip magazine's and such. Head lines like Lady Gaga takes the month off because shes stressed! What??? She lives the good life what could she possibly be stressed about. I mean i understand that its probably hard to sing and act and be a celebrity but what are stressed about? I mean what about everyday people, you don't see your neighbour with 5 kids taking a month break cause she stressed. And she actually has something to be stressed about. A mother has to worry about not only herself but here male figure and her children, she has to worry about having food and a roof over her and her children's head. What about full time college students working there asses off to graduate to be someone, i know I'm stressed but I'm not gonna take a month off. What about people that have lost there jobs to the economy because everything falling apart, you think they can take off for a month because there stressed? NO! I just can't stomach the fact that they complain so much about how bad they have it, i mean am not them but please. There are people in this world that have it way worse then they do. Another topic is Kim Kardashian buys an engagement band and her boyfriend hasn't even proposed. WTF???? why are you buying a engagement band if your not even getting married? WHY! i just can't wrap my mind around that. The reason she did it apparently is because all here friends are brides to be. That doesn't make it right. So lets say she buys this ring what is she gonna do.. take it home and give it to her boyfriend and be like here babe when you want to marry me just give me this. If he's not really into her like that kind of committed relationship, he's going to be like no thank you i don't want to marry you, i just want to have sex with Kim Kardashian. So i think that some of these things could possibly be made up but some of theses story's have to be true. Apparently the life of the rich and famous is harder then just the everyday life that we all live.

How Do You Want it?

I think it's funny to look and see how much music has changed over the last couple of years. I mean there had been so many phases. I mostly listen to hip-hop and rap because i enjoy dancing so it really gets me moving but why have we gone on this music roller coaster. I have no problems with listening to these songs they don't offend me because I'm bigger then that. In 2003 The Ying Yang Twins had a song called "Naggin" which was a direct reference that women are always complaining and bothering men, but it's not just that were complaining were trying to tell you something and your just don't want to hear it. Women don't write songs saying "oh he's so damn hard headed". I mean get real. Then in 2004 the top 5 song of that year was "Slow Motion" By Juvenile. Which is about a combination of sex and dancing and of course very degrading. Now moving on to 2007 still not that much better with "Freaky Gurl" by Gucci Mane, with the chorus being "she a very freaky girl, don't bring her home to mama, first your get her name then you get here number, then you get some brain in the front seat of the hummer". And for all of us that doesn't know what this means is. Find out here name so you can sweet tlak her, then get here number to seem interested then take here to your hummer and receive oral sex from here.... that's it! THAT'S ALL WERE GOOD FOR! Now in the last 2 years we've had a change in 2008 with Webbie's song for women "Independent". talking about how it's nice when a women has things that she didn't have to get from a man, unlike the typical "Kayne west", "Gold digger" way. And now this year in 2009 Jamie Foxx wrote a song entitled "She Got Her Own" Which the beginning starts with the lyrics "a dedication to the independent women" which is a huge progress from the degrading lyrics that we have been putting up with for years. It's nice to hear a song like Jamie Foxx's when he says that he likes it when a women wants to pay for dinner and do things for her man or gentlemen caller and he appreciates it. I love that line that he says "There ain't nothing that's more sexy, then a women want but don't need me". That alone is a sign even small that men are trying to come around the idea that women can and are doing things on there own and we don't want or need to relay on a man.

What If We Switched?

So how awesome would it be if men went through what women went through and women were men? What if one day out of the year men were forced to do as women do? OR something as close to it. I hate that women are always something to be looked at. I remember when i was younger i always had really pretty friends and they always had boys chasing them around, and i was always the friend of the boys. So all i ever wanted was for the boys to chase me around. But when i was younger and i had braces and glasses, nobody gave me the time of day. The summer before 8Th everything hit me... when i got to 8Th grade the boys just started flooding in. And you cant help but be flattered. But then you realize, your just a game? When do guys go through that weird strange were there just a game. Not saying that ladies are Innocent, but when are girls like "oh i wonder if he's easy?". Well none of the people i knew were like that. Boys were always ready to melt your heart if it meant that they could get in your pants. I just wished that guys could go through that weird part in your life when you get your period and your not sure whats going on with your body. When you start having sex they don't have to worry about getting pregnant. I mean they don't worry and they don't want to get someone pregnant but it doesn't physically happen to them. I want a Man to experience pushing a cantaloupe of a hole the size of a what like a quarter? I just think that men should experience not being able to watch Disney movies without crying cause the mom dies, or getting nasty men saying things to them when they walk down the street. Sometimes women cant go anywhere without some hotshot saying "hey BAbay.." it's just repulsive. I mean women cant even go to a club with here friends without some freak rubbing his business on your back and ass. i just want one time for a guy to have some girl say provocative things yelled had him, or get kidnapped and raped in a park( not that that's a positive thing) or experience what its like to have PMS and see that you really are a bitch,..... and you can't help that. I need that day... it would be like a vacation and i would sit back and laugh!!!

"Go Take A Midol or Something"

Why is it whenever your in a bad mood, and there's a guy around it's immediately tied to your period? Nothing makes me more mad then when a guys like what are you on the rag? Or any other nasty degrading term. It's terrible enough that you period makes you feel like a stinky walking ugly stick but do boys have to make the matter worse. Another thing that bothers me is that when you are on your period you really do get bloated and tired, and crampy and guys think we are just using it as a excuse. Well I think that somethings that is a bit unempowering is Midol. It is solely created for women. Which isn't a bad thing but you could just take an Tylenol and feel better as well. But they had to create a medicine "just for women" that's for the relief of bloating, fatigue and cramps. I for one have never been one to take any medications of these types because i feel like if you just take an ibuprofen or whatever that you'll feel fine. I think that there company figured that they could get rich making an aspirin that's just for women and women would buy it. I am also very open about this topic as well fell free to comment tell me how you feel about it. I think that the medicine gives men another reason to think your weak because you take medicine for your period, even thought they have not even the slightest clue what its like. I just think that we don't really need a "special" medicine for our periods, take your favorite temporary pain pill!

Miss Congeniality

Miss Congeniality is a movie that i would considered a very roller coaster type movie. I feel that parts of it are empowering and other parts not so much. The reason i choose this movie is because it's been on HBO for the month, but other then that it's one of my favorites. The reasons that i say that this movie is empower and unempowering because she is an independent women that's a workaholic and can fend on her own, they depict her has a loner. Because she loves her job she cant love or have relationships with anyone else. With here workaholic mentality makes her very un-womenly. She didn't brush her hair, or cook dinner she ate microwave meals and she walked manly. She goes and and works out, shes probably one of the only girls that has a punching bag in her living room. I think that here being able to defend herself is empowering. She is ideally what most would call masculine but she is just not by any ones standards and she doesn't care. It does seem that her character is lonely and sad with her loneliness but would rather be lonely and take care of herself. Parts of the movie that i believe are empowering are:
-when her and her following agent are sparring they are auguring about her being in the beauty pageant and they are obviously evenly matched, they are tip for tat with each move.
-At the end of the Pageant, she saves that day
- Even when they dress her up shes true to herself, yes shes pretty but she still undeniably intelligent.
-And she her talent towards the end of the movie is a self defense course.
Some of the things that i thought might be unempowering are:
-She agrees to be a part of the Pageant for her job but also as a way to better herself.
-She used to think that beauty pageants are stupid then at the end she has a change of heart, which isn't a bad things but it's against her original view.
There aren't many bad views, if you know more I'm very open about this blog i just feel that Gracie was Caterpillar to the butterfly, but she stayed true to herself!
